Christine Soria has been an occupational therapist for 29 years. She has a passion for working with children which she discovered at her first job at a hospital. Once she started working with children, she could never imagine doing anything else. Originally from San Diego, Chris has been serving children and their families since she graduated from USC and created a life here in Los Angeles. Chris is also a mom raising four amazing kids, so she gets it!
Chris is an expert in her field with dedication to neurodivergence complemented by expertise in autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, early intervention, sensory integration, learning disabilities, developmental ocular motor intervention, and feeding therapy.
Chris believes in treating the whole child and family, recognizing that true progress goes beyond isolated skills and extends to emotional well-being, family dynamics, and daily life. Parenting a child with special needs comes with unique challenges, and Chris understands the importance of supporting not just the child, but also the parents and caregivers. She is passionate about helping parents understand their child’s behavior through a loving and knowledgeable lens, combining the latest science with her years of experience working with a diverse range of children.
She integrates holistic approaches into traditional occupational therapy, including sensory-based interventions, audio modalities, and energy work, to help families create balance, connection, and a more harmonious home environment. By addressing emotional regulation, stress management, and overall family well-being, her work fosters lasting transformation that extends beyond therapy sessions into everyday life.
Magic Beans OT for ASD helps children with developmental delays and sensory integration issues improve their social and communication skills, while also addressing behavioral challenges.
Magic Beans OT improves outcomes for children with ADHD by targeting underlying issues as well as providing evidence based solutions for parenting challenges.
Early intervention that includes occupational therapy is critical in improving outcomes for all children with motor and developmental challenges evident in infancy and early childhood.
Many learning difficulties are rooted in sensory integration dysfunction and ocular motor difficulties. Magic Beans OT can assess and target specific needs to improve learning and restore self confidence in your child.
Magic Beans OT helps children develop the skills necessary to lead happy and productive lives. This includes fine motor skill development for success and self confidence.
Magic Beans OT helps children develop the skills necessary to feel successful during their sports and academic journeys. This includes possessing the most efficient ocular motor system for success and self confidence.
Chris is one of the only occupational therapists certified in this intervention locally. During years of using this intervention as an addition to her other occupational therapy protocols, she has found therapeutic listening to have one of the quickest and most profound impacts on regulation.
Successfully feeding your child is the most essential activity a parent possesses. Providing this basic need for your child is your right. This develops the symbiotic parent-child relationship necessary to develop emotional and physical security. Magic Beans OT will get you there.
Holistic and alternative approaches complement traditional occupational therapy (OT) by offering additional tools that support the child’s overall development, emotional regulation, and well-being. While traditional OT focuses on developmental skills and functional abilities, these approaches provide a whole-child perspective, addressing the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects that impact a child's progress.
For example, Qigong massage can enhance sensory processing and emotional regulation by using gentle touch, light tapping, and energy movement to release physical tension and calm the nervous system. This can improve a child’s ability to tolerate sensory input, reduce anxiety, and foster self-awareness, all of which support the goals of traditional OT.
Other holistic methods like mindfulness, trauma release exercises, nutrition, intense vibration, therapeutic music/binaural beats, aromatherapy, and yoga can help children develop better self-regulation and find more ease and comfort within their own bodies. These approaches make it easier for children to engage in learning activities and social interactions—key areas addressed by traditional OT. By integrating these holistic techniques, therapists can provide a more comprehensive treatment plan that considers the child’s unique needs, promoting long-term growth, healing, and a deeper sense of well-being.
These complementary modalities not only enhance the child’s therapy experience but also support family dynamics, providing parents with additional tools to nurture their child’s emotional health, regulation, and development.
